One of the most popular festival held every spring is Vancouver’s  Cherry Blossom festival or “Sakura Festival”. Basically the term Sakura originates from Japan meaning “a flowering cherry tree”.  It was believed that many of  the cherry blossoms in Vancouver originates Japan. This is a celebration of spring awakening with more than 37,000 Cherry Trees of Vancouver.  It has served as a symbol of spring and friendship of both in Canada and Japan.

This year as Vancouver’s celebrates it’s 125th anniversary, The Cherry Blossom Festival  will once again paint the city in pink from March 26-April 22, 2011. With it’s budding and flowering trees, it’s no wonder that it has become an international symbol for Spring.

This year Canada welcomes spring with it’s largest flower and garden festival of North America, The 14th Annual Canada Blooms festival.
